Congratulations to Dr. Bing Brunton who has been appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology, beginning in September 2014. She will be the first WRF-supported faculty member in the UW Institute for Neuroengineering. Dr. Brunton was a postdoctoral fellow with the the Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering and the Department of Applied Math. She received her doctoral degree from Princeton University. Her research uses computational techniques that exploit inherent sparsity in complex data in order to create data-driven, low-dimensional dynamic models for biological and engineered systems.
