February 2016 UWIN seminar speaker Dr. Jason YeatmanThe February 2016 UWIN seminar features Dr. Jason Yeatman, an Assistant Professor with the Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences (I-LABS) and the Department of Speech & Hearing Sciences at the University of Washington.  He will be speaking on the topic “The neural circuitry of reading”

The seminar will be on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at 3:30pm in the Physics/Astronomy Auditorium (PAA) A110.  Refreshments will be served prior to the talk.

Abstract: Learning to read requires coordinating signals between visual, auditory, and language cortex; the bundles of axons that connect this circuitry are critically important for reading. In this talk I will discuss how new MRI methods, in combination with computational modeling, are paving the way for a circuit level understanding of how we read.
